The American International Society in Hamburg e.V. is an excellent place to meet cosmopolitan English-speaking people in the greater Hamburg area. Since our inception in 2008, our goal has been to provide a special venue for intercultural understanding and genuine, enriching interactions between Americans, friends of America, and all English-speaking internationals. We come from many nations and a wide variety of backgrounds, including diplomacy, business, science, the military, law, education, media, and the arts.

At all of our activities we invite you to engage in international encounters, share interests and experiences and enjoy stimulating conversation and networking on a high level. “American” openness, friendliness, and optimism, as well as a dedication to freedom, democracy, and human rights are central to our philosophy and serve as our guide.

Our monthly Dinner Meetings, which take place regularly at the Park Hyatt Hamburg, provide a potent forum for discourse on key global issues and developments. Presentations by distinguished guest speakers and discussion rounds are designed to expand horizons, give exclusive insights, and deepen our understanding of the wider contexts that shape our world. We also enjoy holiday celebrations, concerts, art exhibits, and casual fellowship gatherings.

Our Society is a member of the “The Association of American Clubs” (AAC), a community of American clubs worldwide that are linked by a common language, affection for things American, and a desire to foster mutual understanding and friendship. Founded by our President Jürgen Abel in 2003 (then President of The American Club of Hamburg), the AAC has evolved into a rich multinational organization with over forty member clubs. Members of our Society qualify under the AAC umbrella for associate membership benefits from all AAC member clubs on five continents.

Want to join us? We look forward to seeing you at our events.
